A two-day public meeting at the Royal Society, London on 4-5 June, 2015 will discuss the latest scientific findings arising from the UK Ocean Acidification (UKOA) research programme and the German partnership programme, Biological Impacts of Ocean Acidification (BIOACID).

A two-day public meeting at the Royal Society, London on 4-5 June will discuss the latest scientific findings arising from the UK Ocean Acidification (UKOA) research programme – co-funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) of the British Government – and the German partnership programme, Biological Impacts of Ocean Acidification (BIOACID).

On June 4, 2015 leading UKOA and BIOACID researchers will explain the process and likely effects of ocean acidification, give reasons why we should care about ocean acidification and point out what can we do about ocean acidification.

On June 5, 2015, specific science topics will be explored in greater detail, with open discussion on what has been learned, and what are the future science challenges in this rapidly-developing and societally-important research area.
